Your lack of experience with reservists shows. Reservists are not just weekend warriors. They are actually warriors 24 / 7 who can make things happen at a moments notice, while handling full time jobs and families. There are also service members that are in AGR status. That means active guard and reserve. They are technically reserve members but they serve in uniform 24/7. There are reservists who have served 2 or more 12 month deployments to Iraq. From what I understand the Marines both reserve and active deploy for about 6 months. (I do however know that some of their tours have been extended.) You need to learn about force structure before you can make the lame comments that you made. Many reserve units accomplish more in two days than some active duty units do in a month and many reservists volunteer extra time - without pay - to make things work. If you think active duty garrison time is hard, imagine holding down full time work and intense military training. I remember coming directly from the field and going to work within a couple of hours. Reservists deploy to the same area of operations that AD members do as well. Don’t be jealous! Someday you might be strong enough to be a reservist.
